Aligner therapy is the use of thin, clear, plastic trays to move teeth. This amazing treatment method is very popular with our adult patients. The major advantage to aligner treatment is that the trays are so thin and clear that they do not interfere with everyday activities. At the same time, they can be removed when desired, such as eating, or for social activities. This allows our patients to obtain the smile they have always wanted, without having to wear actual braces. We offer several different methods of aligner treatment, including Invisalign, ClearCorrect, and Red White & Blue.
These systems combine advanced 3-D computer graphics technology and space age laboratory services. The aligners are designed to move your teeth in small steps to the desired final position prescribed by Dr. Ditcharo. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Your first step is to visit our office to determine if aligners are right for you. After sending precise treatment instructions, a sequence of finely calibrated aligners are constructed. Each aligner is worn for about three weeks and only taken out to eat, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will begin to move gradually-- week-by-week until the final alignment prescribed is attained.
It is important to know that invisible aligners are not intended for children and are not appropriate for every adult. Problems beyond mild crowding or spacing may require other orthodontic choices. Dr. Ditcharo can determine if this treatment is an effective option for you.
